Last but not least, reading. Don't get me wrong I enjoy reading topics I enjoy, such as the news or good science fictions novels. My issue is with all of the dry textbooks that are required reading of in every English class. I will be back up to a pot of coffee every day just trying to make it through chapter one. Writing deficiencies, I have plenty. My biggest problem is figuring out how to write what I am thinking. I have never been proficient at this task. It looks good to me when I read it, but when I turn the paper over to someone else; they do not find the point I was trying to convey. Typically, I have to verbally express the meaning of the paper to them. This is the area in which I would like to excel in this class. I would say that my greatest strength in writing is the speed at which I am able to generate written work. I find that as long as I am reasonably knowledgeable about the subject in question, I can write very quickly and efficiently. This has been a useful skill for generating tedious technical documents, as I can generally complete them relatively quickly and move on to other tasks. There is nothing more frustrating in getting caught up in the wording or organization of a technical piece, and because since the material can often be rather dull, editing and reworking such a piece can be an extremely banal endeavor. Throughout my education, as I have become more exposed to technical writing, I have improved my ability to generate technical pieces efficiently, and avoid getting bogged down in the wording or inconsequential details of the written piece. However, others probably reflect that I mainly write non-fiction, and still others are undoubtedly idiosyncratic. He loved that I chose the verb “scurried” and the phrase “dime-sized portion” and told me that I had a knack for choosing the exact right word/phrase at the right time. Well, that’s because I’m conveniently leaving out the rest writing master thesis paper, but I do think it helped me to organize my thoughts and present them in a way that makes sense — crucial for any writer. 4. Organized and logical progression. Who would have thought that going to law school would have made me a better writer? I joke with people that they actually tried to beat all the good writing habits out of me, but of course that’s not (entirely) true. I know it’s common with a lot of writers. I, on the other hand, write, type and think too fast to the point where I don’t catch my mistakes.
